If you request a recommendation letter, an automated email is sent to the referee. Since an email cannot be unsent, it is not possible to delete a request for a recommendation letter.

However, if you need to cancel your request because:

  • If you have misspelled the name of the referee, but the email address is correct, the referee will have the opportunity to correct their name while submitting the letter;
  • If the email address is wrong, simply ignore the old request and add a new one with the correct address.
